It is that time of year again. House decorating! This year was phase 2 of a 3 phase project. I hope people drive my house and catch some Christmas spirit. If they dont they can always go and buy some at the mall! Anyway hope everyone stays safe this holiday season.

Float-tastic

As you may or may not know I have not been able to watch the parade as I have been in it for the past 5 years. Needless to say it was a treat to see all the lights and kids! I have tallied my votes: best school: float Prince Charles followed closely by Simonds High, Best lights: Saint John Energy, Best mini float: Splash, best in show: the grinch and of course the highlight of the night: our very own Saint John Firefighters who escorted Santa. The weather for the parade was better then ideal, nice and warm for the kiddies (I dont think it dropped below zero). Approx 40 thousand Saint Johners came out to try and catch some Christmas spirit. I know I got some!

Tidbit: remember this holiday season it is illegal to dig into the second layer of chocolates before the first layer is gone!!!!!!

Junkies

we thought it would be a good idea to get a "timmies" for the annual X-mas parade. we should have gotten one from a tims that was not on the parade route, it was lined up out both doors into the parking lot! But we made it. After we got our coffee we walked up to our spot where we watched the parade (corner of main and lansdown)

Volksmegan Jetta

Hello again everyone I wanted to post this picture of one of my best friend's new car. It is a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta, City edition. Way to go Megan! When she is in it the car is equipped with 26 megs of ram, the only thing it is missing is a flower vase. I hope she does not get a heavy foot driving this beast around the square!

Remember

ON the 11th hour of the 11th day in the 11th month of 1918 marked the end of the fighting in the great world war. We pay or respects and remember those who faught and are still fighting for our freedom. Both of my Grandparents, who now rest with many other veterans at Ceder Hill Cemetary, participated in world war 2, another very significant war in the battle for our freedom! We march everyt year in front of over 6000 people at the City of Saint John's rememberance day parade in honour of all these people!

Numpty

Numpties: Someone who (sometimes unwillingly) by speech or action demonstrates a lack of knowledge or misconception of a particular subject or situation to the amusement of others.

2nd definition
Numpties: Someone who wears their socks higher then their ankles in New Zealand

TidBit: if you watch a fire very closely you will notice the flame never actually touches the wood because the wood is not burning, the gas the wood gives off when heated is what causes the visible flame.

Long lost buddies

It is hard to believe that even the smallest of characters can have best friends on the other side of the world! Maybe they can hit a movie when Cole flies in to help us with his X-mas gift unwrapping talent. And what is up with Mark, the only one in the picture with a beer , again, what a bad influence! I think Marks reputation is known world wide because I was getting a parking ticket the other day and I told the police officer that I was related to Mark Toomey and he said "whatever here's your ticket"

Never played poker???

Good one George! I have to give the devil his due, George (guitarist for the boys next door) was able to pull the wool over the eyes of a whole table of seasoned poker players. As you can see in the pictures of one hand, that is me standing watching George get the cards he needed, Then George counting my chips and finally the look of disgust on my face as the

other guys taunt and poke fun. So I handed him my bottle and he drank down my last swallow, then he bummed a cigarette and asked me for a light, and said.....................

memoriam

I would like to dedicate this post to this wonderful screen tent that lasted almost one full day. Apparently it is highly flammable and the poles are no good without the tarp and screen. Farewell good tent!

tidbit You can actually eat negative calories! Take a celery stick for example if you eat your body burns more calories to digest it than the celery actually has in it.

4-wheelers, quads, funnybikes

Hey anybody that wonders why their "wheeler" is not working right and swears it is a defect obviously has not read the part in the manual that says THIS IS NOT A SUBMARINE! Needless to say we had fun anyway! We put about 150 Km's on the bikes that day, which in our form of measurement is 30 beer. Ever since Michaela has been bugging me to buy one!

Tidbit: a space shuttle in orbit is constantly falling towards the earth. It is attached to the earth by a giant string "gravity" but instead of crashing into the earth it's thrusters counteract the effect and keep it spining around the earth's atmosphere.

Fire wood smile

I finally got all my wood cut. Not bad, it only took me 3 weeks to do, but it was free. Now every time I put a stick in the fire place and watch it burn away to nothing I can remember how much work it was to prepare!

pictures

Sorry folks but blogger seems to be acting up and it will not let me add these pics to my "trick or treat" blog.

Trick or Treat

Judging by the egg shells all over the front step of my good buddy "Jay man wonder's" house, I guess you should not turn off your lights and stop handing out candy until the punks are done trick or treating. We got about 35 kids here at our place most of them to young to throw eggs. Here are my votes: Best Princess- Katlyn/ Best bumble bee -Macey face/ best tiger -Logan buddy and for some reason all the little girls were the first to reach into the bucket of brains to get the candy! By the way the fireman with his head cut off is not me.

tidbit You can sqeeze and egg on it ends as hard as you can and it will not break.
